Western Undergraduate Exchange (WUE)

Arizona’s participation in the Western Undergraduate Exchange (WUE) provides the opportunity for students to attend a public college, at the undergraduate level outside Arizona, at a reduced level of tuition (150% of the host institution’s resident tuition.) The member states that have colleges with a baseball program are: Arizona, California, Colorado, Hawaii, Idaho, Montana, Nevada, New Mexico, North Dakota, Oregon, South Dakota, Utah and Washington.

Interested applicants should check the website at http://www.wiche.edu/wue to search participating institutions by program of study. For students who are seriously considering a public out-of-state school, we encourage you to check the website to see if their school and program of choice is available at the WUE rate.

Interested applicants should contact the institution of choice and indicate that they would like to apply as a Western Undergraduate Exchange (WUE) applicant. There is not a separate WUE application.

During 2017-18, 1,641 students from Arizona enrolled in out-of-state programs at the WUE rate, saving more than $13.2 million in tuition and fees — the average student savings amounted to $8,043. Additionally, during 2017-18, 7,758 out-of-state students attended Arizona universities and community colleges at the WUE rate.

My oldest son, Koty has benefited tremendously from this program while at Western Oregon University.
